The Film

A collaborative feature like no other,

brought to you by the people of Suffolkou.

A romantic feature film

This is an excerpt from the opening scene of one of eight scripts we have selected to be incorporated in the collaborative feature film With Love From… Suffolk. Unlike Patrick, we have not only a big night ahead of us, but a big year with the production of this film over the summer and a release in time for Valentine’s Day 2016.

With Love From... Suffolk is a feature film of 8 short romantic tales. Set entirely within Suffolk, it is not just a funny and tender exploration of relationships – it’s also a love letter to our magnificent county.

In the vein of romantic, multi-stranded films such as Love Actually and New York, Love You, we want to engage and entertain our audience, evoking laughter, drama and romance, with a life-affirming message overall.

The 8 stories include storylines of:

  • A Southwold resident is torn between a beautiful jogger and his canine best pal.

  • Sprightly 60-somethings face a tricky third date.

  • An enigmatic Pakistani woman sings at an open mike night.

  • A jack-the-lad gets taught a lesson on a romantic walk through Ipswich.

  • A sailboarder rethinks his life after meeting an eccentric young lad at the beach.

  • A shy florist’s life is turned upside down by an unexpected compliment.

  • A veteran sailor parts from his beloved yacht.

  • A football-mad teenager falls for his teammate.

FILM Suffolk is a regional non-profit organisation, which is coordinating the production and intends to bring exposure to the local film industry as well as the county. We are assembling a large crew of local film professionals who are contributing to the production.

As the film will contain eight stories, we will have a different film team working on each section. We are lucky to count amongst the directors who have already signed up, none other than 1980s Hollywood director Graham Baker (the Omen 3, Beowulf, Alien Nation) and local writer/director Daniel Simpson (The Rendlesham UFO Incident, Spiderhole). We are also excited to have the support of blockbuster cinematographer Steven Hall (Star Wars VII, The Imitation Game, Gladiator) who will be responsible for the overall look of the movie.

We have also attracted one local high-profile actors, who we cannot reveal just yet. We are however still looking for more actors with a Suffolk connection, who might want to support the county and help the local film industry to grow.

But mostly we need YOUR support to make this film happen!

Please take the time to look on the homepage in what way you might be able to contribute.

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

"What a clever way to encourage film making in the best county of all."
